Vintage Nightgown Values & Top Sellers – November 2011

Here are the highest priced vintage nightgowns sold on eBay in the last 30 days.

The top seller was this black Vintage Intime Maribu Trimmed Peignoir. It sold for $489.99.

Next is this 1940s “Heavenly Silk by Fischer” Silk nightgown & robe set. It received 17 bids and sold for $293.95.

This 1940s silk embroidered nightgown was the third highest. It received 24 bids and sold for $255.

Here is the seller’s description: “This unworn vintage peach silk embroidered lingerie slip dress nightgown dates from the 1940s. It is hand stitched, made of pastel peach silk fabric, with decorative embroidered stitched details and an outlined floral pattern design. This lovely lingerie sensual slip dress nightgown negligee has a bias cut, is a long floor length, with plunging V necklines, adjustable tie shoulder straps and belted back sash. The nightgown measures 60 inches long, with 44 inch hips, a 40 inch waist and 38 inch bust.”

Next was this nightgown and peignoir set by Jonquil By Diane Samandi. The seller stated it was unworn and still had the original retail tags. The set sold for $235.

This Vintage Olga Nightgown – style number # 92050 – sold for $174.99.

The seller noted that both the twisted bodice designs and this beautiful sapphire blue color are hard to find in the Olga world. I guess because of the dropped waist, this looked like it could be a shorter length gown. But it is full length at 55 inches and it has a sweep of 200 inches. The back is all elastic lace, like you see on the sides of the bodice.

Another Olga nightgown, this one style number 9277 in white, was next. This one was a size medium and received 4 bidsbefore selling for $165.49. It has a 180 inch sweep at the lace trimmed hem.

This Miss Elaine Chiffon Peignoir & Nightgown set was next. I sold for the listing price of $149.99.

The seller stated the lace on the sleeve trim measured 4 1/2″ long and the nightgown and robe were trimmed on matching lace inserts.

A rare find – a plus size vintage nightgown – was next. This one is a size 3X Contessa Robe and Nightgown set. It received 2 bids and sold for $149.99.

It consists of chiffon layers over nylon in mocha and lilac and embroidery in a bow motif.

Next is this vintage Vanity Fair nightgown. With its layers of chiffon and shades of pink, it looks like it stepped right out of a fairy tale. It sold for $149.99

Finishing up the top ten, is this vintage Olga nightgown and peignoir Set. It sold for $125.

The nightgown is style number 92280, with a 144 inch sweep. The matching robe is Olga style number 94280.

Collectible and Vintage Cookie Jar Values – November 2011

Here are the Vintage Cookie Values – these are the highest priced Vintage Cookie Jars that sold on eBay over the last 30 days.

This Glenn Appleman Cookie Jar from 1981, called “Ten Cats on a Buick” was the highest priced Cookie Jar that sold within the last 30 days. The seller stated that he worked as a photographer for Glenn and came to possess this cookie jar that was never a “mass produced, open catalog item”. It sold for $1,611.

Next was this Antique Macintyre Moorcroft Cookie Jar. It sold for $1,455.

The seller stated it is an “Antique Cookie Jar / Biscuit Barrel. Made by the James Macintyre Factory, Burslem, England, late 19th – early 20th century.” Here is the seller’s description: “Measures approx 6 1/2 inches to the top of the finial…Stands on a round foot, recessed below the full-bodied jar. The surface is very richly decorated in overlapping pattern of orange poppies in scrolling blue foliate reserves, overlapping one another. Tube lining. Soft peach ground with striking cobalt blue detail in sharp contrast. Gold rim to base. Gold detail to poppies. Gilded ground near the top with some wear. Silverplate lid with engraved poppy decoration echoes the pottery theme… Marked underneath with the James Macintyre Burslem mark (not marked Moorcroft).”

This Shawnee Cottage House Cookie Jar received 36 bids and sold for $1251.89. The sellers description: “This item is in fine shape with no nicks, chips or stains. I believe it was probably a cabinet display piece… The colors & graphics on this item are crisp. I could not find another like this on ebay but was told that it might be a Shawnee pottery item. This item measures approx. 7″ inches tall & 7″ inches wide at the roof. The bottom measures approx. 5″ inches tall & 6″ inches square. There is a mark on the bottom inside a circle that reads USA 6. ”

Next was this Red Spode Trade Winds Cookie Jar. It received 18 bids and sold for $1,248.54. The seller stated it was 8 1/2″ tall.

Another Glenn Appleman design was next. This one, a Black Corvette, sold for $1,000 after receiving 5 bids. It was signed and dated 1984 on the bottom.

This McCoy Freddie the Gleep cookie jar received 8 bids and sold for $915.

From the seller’s description: “on the bottom is 189 McCoy USA the jar measures 11″ x 8″ x 5 1/2″ close measurements…I could not find any information on ebay but I did find information
in a 1997 The Collector’s Encyclopedia of Cookie Jars by Fred Roerig & Joyee Herndon Roerig it was priced then at $500.”

This Batman Batmobile Collectible Cookie jar received 2 bids and sold for $900. The seller stated it was a limited edition collectible made by Vandor. It measures 14L x 8W x 5H.

This is an American Bisque Vintage Sweet Pea Cookie Jar and it sold for $850. In the sellers description, he/she stated: “This jar was purchased in 1965 at the Neyharts Department Store in Williamsport PA by my Aunt. She has always kept it in a china closet, it has never been used for cookies… This Cookie Jars Book Value is for over $2500. It Is The Rarest Popeye Cookie Jar Ever Made … Measures about 12 1/2 inch long, 9 1/2 inch high and 7 inches wide.”

Next, this Rhett Butler Cookie Jar sold for $800. The seller stated “Rhett is standing next to the staircase with his signature swagger. This collectible cookie jar was supposed to have 500 made buy due to factory problems only 150 were made.” It is signed on the bottom “Happy Memories Collectibles, Woodland Hills, California”. The bottom also has a copyright date of 1999.

Finishing up our top ten for this month, is a perennial top seller – the Vintage Shawnee Smiley Pig Cookie Jar. This one received 19 bids and sold for $772.39

Vintage Costume Jewelry Values for November 2011

This vintage Ciner Panther necklace was the highest priced single item sold in the Vintage Costume Jewelry category on eBay over the last 30 days. It received 67 bids and sold for $2,585. The seller of this item, as well as the next two vintage jewelry pieces stated that they we all used for a “Vogue shoot in Europe that maybe featured in Aug or Sept. issues of American Vogue.”

This piece was described as “mint condition vintage runway couture signed CINER necklace. This is a stunning piece. A gold tone ivory and gold enameled Chunky Cougar necklace. The collar necklace has a mobile appearance with a chnky cougar head and gladd topaz eyes. The cougar will fit up to an 18″ neck. The cougar head measures 2 1/2″ long and 2″ wide. The neckling is slightly under 1″ wide.”
This Ciner Enameled Cougar Bracelet received 58 bids and sold for $2,035.99. Its description describrd it as “mint condition vintage runway couture signed CINER enamel bracelet. A stunning gold tone black enamel cougar bracelet with stunning turquoise cabochon eyes. This bracelet measures 1″ high on the wrist. It is 3″ wide. This bracelet opens to 2″ wide at the side of the bracelet. This bracelet also has the original Hang tag still atached.”

From the same collection, this Vintage Chanel Jewelry necklace sold for $1,899.99 after receiving 17 bids. The seller described it as “mint condition vintage runway couture stunning and rare Signed CHANEL Shanghai Collection necklace. This is a stunning silver tone and blue silk necklace with multi chains and a multi chain tassle. This necklace measures 39″ long. It has several hanging cc’s. the long multi chain tassle also has several cc’c and measures 5″ long. This necklace also comes in the original Chanel Box!”

Another Vintage Chanel Necklace was next. This one sold for a “best offer” of $1850. The seller described it as “Vintage CHANEL crystal & baroque pearl chicklet sautoir. Signed & dated 1984 , Made in France. Measure 75 inch long from one end to other. No clasp. Chanel oval signature tag next to one of those large icy look facet rectangle crystal. There are total 6 large rectangle crystals , each about 1 inch / 25mm tall. The round crystals are 11mm in diameter. Creamy white large glass baroque pearls are about 15mm.”

Next is this vintage Lavin necklace. It sold with a “But it Now” of $1,695. The seller described it as “Rarest style of designer LANVIN PARIS vintage lucite necklace ever made” and “2-in-1 necklace features a modernist design with an extra thick gold-plated, double tiered, snake chain necklace accented by a GORGEOUS TORTOISE MARBLED LUCITE PENDANT (2 1/4″ round) and 2 smaller TORTOISE marbled lucite accents. The 2 necklace strands are adjustable so the exact measurements of the length of the strands depends on how you decide to wear it.” and went on to say it was adjustable from 26″ to 21″long.

Next is this Venetian Latticino Wedding Cake Glass Bead Necklace. It received 30 bids and sold for $1,382. The seller stated it was 34″ long, with 40 latticino glass beads that measure 13.5 mm in diameter. Each bead is capped with gilt brass filigree.

Next was this Sherman 3 panel Aurora Borealis Cuff Bracelet. It received 10 bids and sold for $1,337. It was described as Fuscia Aurora Borealis 18.5cm x 7.5cm in mint condition.

This vintage Schiaparelli red bracelet and clip-on earrings received 12 bids and sold for $1,291.99. The seller described the set as “the bracelet is 8″ long and 2 1/2″ wide and weighs approximately five ounces. There are 27 vibrant red glass stones which changes shades with the lighting (bright red, medium red, and dark red). When the light is right and the bracelet is laid of top of a piece of paper, you can read what is underneath–reflects how clear the stones are. There are only two or three stones that I can see that have an insignificant scratch (almost perfect). There are six headlights which reflect fuschia, green, blue, etc. There is a slight vintage wear to two of them. All of the stones are unfoiled and are prong set. All of the stones are set is a heavy dark silver metal. Schiaparelli in script is written underneath the bracelet at each end. The safely chain is intact and the clasp fits tightly.

More VVintage Chanel Jewelry is next. This 1980s Turquoise Necklace sold for a “Best Offer” of $1,250. The seller described it as ” 80″ long from end-to-end, secured with Chanel spring closure. Chanel signed & dated oval hang-tag next to clasp, marked Made in France. The crystals are 11mm in diameter. Metal parts are 24K gold plated.”

The last of our top ten is this Vintage Miriam Haskell pearl cuff bracelet. It received 27 bids and sold for $1,200. The seller described it as “…early Miriam Haskell bracelet…baroque pearls with rhinestones and antique gold flowers hand wired onto a filigree plate. This piece is not signed, but I have had many people check it out, and the consensus is that it is Miriam Haskell.”
