Depression Glass Cookie Jars

Depression Glass Cookie JarDepression Glass was inexpensive, mostly machine made, glass in the depression era. It was given away as premiums (in oatmeal, flour, at the gas station, etc.) or sold cheaply at the five and ten cent stores.  In addition to clear, many depression glass items were also made in colors.  Pink and Green are typically the most common colors – although there is a wide range of colors across all of the patterns.

Many Depression Glass patterns included Cookie Jars – many of these vintage Cookie Jars among the hardest to find and therefore most valuable items in a particular pattern or color.

Some Vintage Depression Glass Cookie Jars sell for hundreds – The Green 1931-1937 Mayfair Open Rose Cookie Jar pictured above sold for $565.55 – many are very affordable.
