Olga Nightgown Style #92147 with Padded Bra

February 3, 2009 by Suzanne
Filed under Most Recent, Vintage Nightgowns

Olga Style 92147Vintage Olga Style 92147Olga Nightgown Style #92147 has a “built in” padded bra.  It does not have the dramatic sweep that many other Olga’s have, but it does have a beautiful low cut bodice with spaghetti straps.  Instead of Small – Medium – Large sizing, these are sized by bust sizes – 32, 34, 36, 38, etc.

These are hard to find, but all of the Olga styles with built-in bras are very popular – for those of us who either want mire support or more padding – or both.  The straight back is also fairly low cut and it is made of the wonderful Olga stretchy/supportive fabric, which will ensure a perfect fit.

Lucie Ann Vintage Nightgowns

Lucie Ann Vintage NightgownsLucie Ann Vintage Nightgowns are among the most glamorous and desirable vintage nightgowns.   Lucie Ann Lingerie was founded by Lucie Onderwyzer in 1949.  Located in Beverly Hills, CA, her glamorous nightgowns and lingerie were worn by Hollywood’s glamorous stars such as Elizabeth Taylor.  She designed all of the peignoir sets worn by Eva Gabor on the 1960’s series Green Acres.

Lucie Ann designs are known for bold color and glamorous details, such a marabu trim, pompons and rhinestones.  They were sold at the upscale and exclusive Beverly Hills boutique, Claire Sandra of Beverly Hills.

After Lucie Onderwyzer passed away in 1988 (at the age of 75), Lucie Ann Lingerie was sold to Deena Lingerie Company. Deena Lingerie began producing the “Lucie Ann II” line in 1990.   In 1996, Deena Lingerie, along with the Lucie Ann line was sold to Lady Ester Lingerie Company. Lady Ester is still manufacturing lingerie, including the Lucie Ann line, along with other well known names such as Val Mode, Perfectform and Wondermaid.  Lucie Ann II Fashion sleepwear, leisure and loungewear is sold today in major chain stores, department and specialty stores.

Featured Vintage Nightgown Seller: Sweet Cherry Vintage Lingerie

December 4, 2008 by Suzanne

Sweet Cherry Vintage LingerieSweet Cherry Vintage Lingerie is owned by Shelley, who has been selling on eBay for 10 years – the last seven she has specialized in vintage lingerie.  As with many sellers of collectibles, she began her interest in vintage lingerie as a collector.    Here are the questions I asked Shelley about Sweet Cherry Vintage Lingerie and her answers:

How did you get started selling vintage lingerie? As a child, I loved my Mother’s frilly chiffon peignoir sets and as a vintage clothing collector, I started out collecting vintage slips and nightgowns when I went to shop for vintage clothing. My collection started growing quite large so I found I needed to downsize and saw eBay as an awesome chance to sell off my collection. It evolved from there and it is my quest to search, shop, find the most exclusive vintage lingerie to sell to other collectors!
What is your favorite item you have sold? Mint Green Vintage NightgownMy favorite item I ever sold was this minty green Lucie Ann/Claire Sandra Nightgown and a Coral Pleated Vanity Fair nightgown.

Are you a collector as well as a seller? Mostly a seller now, however I have a few treasured items I cannot part with.

When you find great items do you keep them for yourself? Hardly ever. I sell 100% of everything I find. After 7 years of doing this, I just don’t have the room to keep everything.
What do you like best about what you are doing? Oh the freedom and being my “own boss”. I was an office manager in a dental office for nearly 20 years and gave it up 4 years ago to sell on eBay full-time and I don’t look back. I do miss the “steady” income, however being at home with my family and being my own boss overshadows that.
What are the biggest challenges? Trying to do everything! Mom, wife, maid, cook, and owner. Being organized helps. However, my biggest challenge over the past year regarding my business is eBay’s changes and trying to keep up with maintaining excellent feedback and high level of DSR’s (Detailed Seller Ratings). With eBay being “all about the buyer”, it is more of a challenge to try to maintain excellent customer service at all times as I am in constant fear of getting a negative or low DSR’s. Why? Because eBay is sanctioning and/or suspending sellers now who don’t earn 5 star ratings.
What is your “Holy Grail” in Vintage Lingerie? I would have to say any Claire Sandra/Lucie Ann gowns, with marabou or the “pom poms” (like the mint green one pictured).

Shelley would would love to invite anyone to shop with her. She ships worldwide and if you mention you read this article and win or purchase any of her items, she will give you FREE shipping off your next purchase and 50% off shipping to my international customers.

Here are Shelley’s current listings – or you can visit her eBay store – Sweet Cherry Vintage Lingerie.
